Ryan wanted to write a blog post about his thoughts for World Autism Awareness Day which is today, April 2nd. Here is what he had to say:
HARD TO REALLY SAY BUT I WILL TRY.
CARE ENOUGH TO DO ACTIONS MORE THAN JUST WORDS. TREATMENT OF AUTISTICS NEEDS IMPROVEMENT.
“Ryan, people are going to ask me what you mean by treatment. Can you elaborate on this?”
TO TREAT ALL PEOPLE WITH THE SAME RESPECT THAT YOU WOULD TREAT YOUR FRIENDS.
“Do you feel that you are treated poorly in society?”
TOO OFTEN YES. WILLING TO SAY FINDING IT IMPROVED WHEN I WAS ABLE TO USE A LETTER BOARD.
CARING TO SHARE THIS FOR ALL OF MY AUTISTIC FRIENDS WHO CANNOT COMMUNICATE YET.
DON’T DISMISS INTELLIGENCE BECAUSE THEY CAN’T PROVE HOW SMART THEY ARE.
ARE ALL PEOPLE DESERVING A RESPECTFUL LIFE?
I THINK YES.
I am in my head. 
This is so wonderful and gives me so much hope for my son, who is 6 and has autism and apraxia. His school gave him an iPad with a communication app but he basically just uses it when he wants something and I know he is smart and has a lot of thoughts in his head. Did you ever try an iPad communication app? Do you think RPM is better? I’m looking for the best way to help my son communicate. Thank you for sharing your story.

YES I HAVE TOUCHCHAT ON MY IPAD. MOSTLY I USE IT TO REQUEST.
LOVE RPM SO MUCH. ARE YOU CARING TO TRY LESSONS WITH YOUR SON? MY MOM IS ALWAYS WILLING TO HELP OTHER PARENTS GET STARTED.
